It was a sunny but cool day on Sunday, March 5th, when our very own INTREN Icicles team of 12 along with the ComEd Coolers 'plunged' into Lake Michigan for Special Olympics! Hosted by Special Olympics Chicago at Chicago's North Avenue Beach, the Polar Plunge fundraiser encourages participants to run into Lake Michigan to raise money to benefit approximately 6,800 athletes from Special Olympics Chicago. In its 17th year, this year's Polar Plunge exceeded their fundraising goal of $1.5 million with the ComEd Cooler's teams of 670+ members raising over $270,000 alone!
For those that joined in to #MakeASplash be sure to share the great photos with friends and family and let them know you were "freezin for a reason"! To show Special Olympics Chicago's appreciation, there is no cost to download these images but they do ask that you share them along with a link to your fundraising page. Congratulations to everyone for making the morning such a huge success for Special Olympics Chicago and to everyone that braved the cold water and 'took the plunge'!!
