Last month, Loretta Rosenmayer, Matt Turk and Brenda Gunnink along with a few customers attended The Women's Energy Network (WEN) Chicago Chapter's first event held on a beautiful sunny evening in Chicago. INTREN is proud to become a member of this premier global organization that educates, attracts, retains, and develops professional women working across the energy value chain.
WEN currently has 3,000 members in chapters in Appalachia, Greater Atlanta, Houston, North Texas, South Texas, Washington DC, and South Louisiana areas. WEN Chicago President Anne Pramaggiore (CEO, ComEd) and President-Elect Sherina E. Maye (Commissioner, Illinois Commerce Commission) are pleased and eager to announce the establishment of a chapter in Chicago - their first Midwest region chapter!
The mission of WEN is to attract more women into energy through outreach programs; to retain and develop women in energy by fostering relationships; and to develop leadership competencies and industry insight through strategic partnerships with companies, educational institutions and other organizations. WEN Chicago will provide networking and educational programming such as, educational workshops on emerging energy trends, a STEM girls mentoring program, and networking breakfasts and dinners.
As a new member to such a strong and dynamic organization, we are excited to build relationships with the energy industry's best and brightest!
