developers, owners and managers.
History
Trench-It Inc. was founded in 1988
by Loretta Rosenmayer. When Loretta started the company,
she and her family were emerging
from desperately hard financial times.
She had no money and no credit. But what she did have was
her reputation and the respect of
the community. She also had
a business idea.
A close woman friend came forward
and offered her a $15,000 loan to
help launch her business. Another
friend financed a truck for her, and an equipment dealer introduced
her to an “angel” who financed her first 2 pieces of
equipment. The company began with 4 employees and is now
over 600 strong. A small trenching company with small dreams
has now evolved into a premier regional
provider of electric and gas services
for Midwest utilities, municipalities,
developers and general contractors.
Because of this tremendous growth and expansion, trenching became only 6% of the business, causing Trench-It to outgrow its name. In 2009 the name was changed to INTREN, merging “integrity” (one of the core values) with “trench”. While it was a difficult decision to change the name due to the stellar reputation of the company, the transition went very smoothly. The tag-line “INTREN, The Next Generation of Trench-It” was used to imply that the company was still who they always were and more. INTREN now stands as a very professionally evolved, multi-faceted, customer focused entity.
